Tips & Tricks Tuesday

Hi, Stylists!

Each week, we will be celebrating Tips & Tricks Tuesday to help you grow your business. There are dozens of ways to promote and market yourself, especially on social media, and we’re going to highlight at least one strategy every Tuesday in this blog. The goal here is to accumulate as many tips and tricks as possible and apply them to your online presence. Feel free to print these blogs out and have them handy as a “guide” to use along your journey as a CCO Stylist!

This week’s Tips & Tricks topic: Hashtags.

What are they, exactly?

We see them.

We use them.

Sometimes we even say “HASHTAG” to be funny, but do we even know what they’re for?

It’s OK if you’re uncertain, that’s why we’re talking about it today!

I like to think of hashtags as cute little “summaries.” Look at a photo and try to summarize it in as few words as possible. Keep in mind that each little “summary” is used to categorize content, making it easy for potential consumers/clients to search for on social media.

We want to use hashtags to not only help our visibility, but also to accurately describe what we’re trying to sell.

Let’s look at an example from our Instagram.

Here’s a photo of our Fall Giveaway:

When you look at this photo, what do you see? How would you summarize and categorize it to make it appear in a search?

Here are the hashtags we chose, and we’ll tell you why, using our 4 Category Technique.

#fallfashion #giveaway #giveawayalert #fall #falloutfits #fallcolors #halloween #thanksgiving #autumn #scarfseason #pumpkin #sweaterweather #sweaterseason #CCoriginals #womensfashion #womenhelpingwomen #womensupportingwomen #smallbusiness

So what is the 4 Category Technique?

It’s a technique we like to use in order to make sure all of our important themes are always covered in photos. Moving forward, we encourage you to use at least one from each of these four categories.

  • Holidays/Seasons – Because we sell apparel, the applicable holidays and/or seasons should always be a hashtag. This makes it easy for customers to find us based on seasons and specific days.

 Examples of Holiday/Seasonal Hashtags coming up: #fall #fallfashion #sweaterseason #scarfseason #thanksgiving #autumn #merrychristmas #christmasfashion #happynewyear #2020 #NYE #christmasshirt #merryxmas #blackfriday #blackfriday2019 #blackfridaydeal #shopsmallsaturday #smallbusinesssaturday

  • Direct Sales – Keep in mind that people aren’t always searching for products, specifically. They also search for opportunities, which is something we are also trying to market!

Examples of Direct Sales/Opportunity Hashtags: #dstips #directsales #partyplan #bizopp #incomeopportunity #businessopportunity #wahm #mompreneur #giveaway #momswithjobs #momssupportingmoms #momswhowork #entrepreneur #smallbusinesslife #shopsmall #directsalesmommy

  • Empowerment – Remember that at our core, we are a family of women helping women. That’s what this whole thing is about, and we want in our messaging as much as possible.

Examples of Empowerment Hashtags: #womenhelpingwomen #womensupportingwomen #strongwomen #empoweringwomen #empoweredwomen #ladiesfirst #womeninbusiness #womeninbiz #womenpower #womenpreneur #womenwhohustle

  • Boutique – People love shopping online, so give them something to search for!

Examples of Boutique Hashtags: #boutique #boutiqueshopping #boutiquefashion #boutiqueclothing #boutiquestyle #boutiqueowner #boutiqueonline #boutiquelife #botiqueboss #boutiquefinds #boutiqueshop

So to Summarize . . .

  • Hashtags are meant to help visibility on social media as well as describe what we’re selling and categorize products for potential customers.
  • Think of hashtags as “summaries” or “descriptors.”
  • Use at least one hashtag from each of our 4 Categories each time you post. (Holiday, Empowerment, Direct Sales, Boutique.)
  • Always use OUR hashtags for your posts: #CCOriginals #CCStylist

We hope this helped answer your questions, and we look forward to seeing your posts.

See you next week!
